Wall Hangings for the Holidays by Carole Cain

WHEELING — Every November, Artworks hosts the Holiday Show and Sale in the North Galleries. Curator Janet Sheehan encourages members to offer their best and newest works for the even. Many of the artists stray from their usual styles and feature interesting pieces for visitors to buy to add to their own collections or for gift giving.

The opening reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 14. The party is free and open to the public. Artists look forward to this sale because it gives them freedom to “think outside the box” and offer fun items not usually found on their panels.

Centre Market is a magical place to visit during the holidays. Stroll through the upper building with a cup of coffee and fulfill all of your gift giving needs in the Gallery. Original framed works, prints, fabric art, jewelry and cards from over 20 juried artists are available year round.

Artworks is a non profit fine art and education center dedicated to serving the community. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. six days a week from Monday through Saturday.
