Weirton Man Is Facing Federal Drug Charges
A federal grand jury this week indicted Lavel L. Hicks of Weirton on drug and firearms charges.
Hicks, 43, faces six cocaine-related counts and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm.
He allegedly distributed cocaine in November and December 2017 and December 2018 in Brooke and Hancock counties.
Hicks, having previously been convicted of second-degree murder in Brooke County, also is accused of possessing a 9mm pistol. He faces up to 20 years in prison on each drug count, and up to 10 years for the firearms count.
