Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home Honored by Lifeline of Ohio for Support of Organ Donation
Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory has received the Lifeline of Ohio Funeral Services Partner of the Year Award.
This award is presented to a member or organization of the funeral services community who has demonstrated professional excellence in support of organ, eye and tissue donation.
Kent Holloway, CEO of Lifeline of Ohio, presented the organization’s Funeral Services Partner of the Year Award to Sarah H. Barickman, outreach director of Altmeyer Funeral Homes, during an event on March 9. Lifeline of Ohio’s annual “Evening with the Stars,” presented by TXJet, recognizes individuals and institutions for their role in saving lives through organ, eye and tissue donation.
Through promotion and advocacy, those recognized further the cause of donation and help save and heal hundreds of lives every year.
An independent, nonprofit organization, Lifeline of Ohio promotes and coordinates the donation of human organs and tissue for transplantation. Lifeline of Ohio serves 78 hospitals in 37 counties in Ohio and two counties in West Virginia.
It is designated as an organ procurement organization through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
