Mobile Unit to Bring Family Planning Services to Wheeling
WHEELING — The Mobile Community Health Center is bringing family planning services to area women this week.
The mobile unit will be parked on 15th Street outside of Youth Services System Inc. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
Services will include testing for sexually transmitted diseases, annual exams, birth control, emergency contraception, pregnancy tests, Pap tests, pelvic exams and breast exams.
To schedule an appointment with a nurse practitioner, call 724-705-3195. Walk-in patients will be accepted as the schedule permits.
Women who do not have insurance or are under-insured and meet income requirements are eligible for services at family planning clinics. Services are available regardless of age and no parental consent is required.
There are no residency requirements and regulations require patient confidentiality.
The Women’s Network, a committee of Youth Services System’s prevention department, is implementing public health strategies to increase referrals to family planning clinics in the Northern Panhandle. In partnership with Cornerstone Care Community Health Centers, the Mobile Community Health Center Family Planning Clinic is available to residents in northern West Virginia. Cornerstone has partnered with Adagio Health to offer family planning services to patients in Wetzel, Marshall, Ohio, Hancock and Brooke counties.
