Road Work Reminders Issued

OHIO COUNTY:

* Interstate-70 is restricted to one lane in each direction, between milepost 13 and the West Virginia/Pennsylvania State Line now through Oct. 11 due to Tunnel Ridge long wall mining activity occurring under the interstate.

The speed limit is reduced to 45 mph. This will allow Kelly Paving to monitor the road and perform any necessary repair work to maintain safe travel along this segment of I-70. Motorists are advised to be alert for changing traffic patterns and expect delays.

* Due to work on the Chapel Road Bridge over Interstate 470 in Bethlehem, lane closures will occur on I- 470 westbound and eastbound on Saturday. The closure westbound will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Exit 5A to Exit 2, and the eastbound closure will take place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Exit 2 to the junction of I-70. Detours will be posted using I -70 and U.S. 250. Motorists are advised to be alert for changing traffic patterns and expect delays.

Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.

* Now through Oct. 1, W.Va. 2, Main Street in Wheeling, will be reduced to one lane from 10th to 11th streets from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for a gas line replacement. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and expect delays.

MARSHALL COUNTY:

* Now through Sept. 27, CR 74, Fish Creek Road, will be closed at milepost 10.88 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for slip repair. No through traffic will be permitted. Local traffic will be accommodated, however, motorists are advised to expect delays. Traffic will be maintained during non-working hours by temporary traffic signals.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.

* At 7 a.m. Saturday, the traffic signal on W.Va. 2/U.S. 250 in McMechen, will be activated. Motorists are advised to be alert for this change.

* Now through Sept. 20, CR 60, Glen Easton Road, will be closed at milepost 0.70. This closure will occur from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. and is necessary for slip repair School buses will be accommodated.

Temporary traffic signals will maintain traffic during non-working hours.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.
