Nemacolin Castle Begins Popular Ghost Tours
BROWNSVILLE, Pa. – As the Halloween season approaches, Nemacolin Castle in Brownsville will once again offer its popular ghosts tours.
The tours began Sept. 28 and will continue through October. Times are are 7 to 11 p.m. Fridays, 6 to 11 p.m. Saturdays and 6 to 10 p.m. Sundays through October, and 7 to 11 p.m. on Halloween.
“We’re nearly sold out for the first night,” said Rocky Brashear, president of the Brownsville Historical Society, when discussing the popularity of the tours. “We were sold out most of last year.”
To accommodate crowds, the historical society is adding more guides to the line-up.
Tour guides tell stories of the paranormal and unexplained happenings that have taken place in the castle over the years. These stories have attracted many visitors, including paranormal investigators. Brashear noted that funds raised by the historical society are put back into improvements for the castle.
Nemacolin Castle is located at 136 Front St. in Brownsville. Visitors should park on Brashear Street. For more information, call the castle at 724-785-6882.
