Bridges Project Continues

Swank Construction crews remove concrete slabs Tuesday from the eastbound section of an Interstate 70 bridge that stretches above Lumber Avenue in Elm Grove as part of the I-70 Bridges Project. While crews have been primarily working on bridges on the westbound side of the highway between Bridgeport and Elm Grove over the past few months, there are a few locations where crews have been doing work on the eastbound side of the highway. Beginning Monday, Feb. 3 and continuing for nine months, the westbound lanes on I-70 at the Fulton Bridge will be closed. Through traffic is advised to use the official detour, Interstate 470, to reach points west, although the Wheeling Tunnel will still be accessible from U.S. 250.
