Food Box Giveaway Planned in Moundsville

MOUNDSVILLE – The Marshall County Family Resource Network is partnering with the Mountaineer Food Bank and the City of Moundsville for a food box distribution this week.

The Mountaineer Food Bank will be bringing their truck to the Four Seasons Pool parking lot, located at 300 Mulberry Ave. in Moundsville, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

The food box distribution at the same location in July drew over 225 families to receive free food. Over the last few months, distributions have also been held in McMechen and Cameron.

“The FRN is proud to be able to once again offer families in need a free box of food,” Executive Director Stacie Dei said. “We are so grateful for the Mountaineer Food Bank, the City of Moundsville, and all of the volunteers who help to make these events run so smoothly.”

Those who attend the event are asked to follow the traffic guidelines set up for the distribution. Families receiving food are asked to remain in their vehicles, and have a space in their trunk or back seat cleared for the box.

Volunteers from the FRN and Mountaineer Food Bank will be there to load the boxes into vehicles using appropriate protective equipment.

The giveaway will be conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The food boxes are being provided free of charge, and all Marshall County residents can participate in the distribution. One food box will be provided per vehicle at this time.

The Marshall County FRN is a non-profit organization that is helping to make Marshall County a better place to live and work. For more information on the FRN, visit www.marshallcountyfrn.com.
