Holiday Inn Express to Hold Ribbon-Cutting
MOUNSDVILLE — A new hotel situated at the south end of town is set to have its ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites at 225 Teletech Drive, at the south end of the Kroger plaza, will hold the event at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Ground broke on the five-story, 123-room hotel in May 2019.
The hotel is part of the MPH Hotels roster and had a cost estimate of $17 million to build. The hope of both hotel officials and Moundsville city officials is that the hotel becomes the start of several future developments in that area.
A second hotel possibly could be built on the site, along with an opportunity for two or three restaurants on the front parcel of land. It is expected that the project could create 200 to 250 permanent full-time jobs for the area.
