Shadyside Man Faces Charges in Marshall County

MOUNDSVILLE — A Shadyside man faces felony charges after allegedly sexually assaulting an employee at the Moundsville Kroger on the clock.

In June, a woman approached a Moundsville police officer at the store, looking to file a complaint about an incident a few days prior. The woman said that the man, later identified as Terrance Hanson Jr., 50 of Shadyside, had grabbed her rear, and when confronted, laughed at her.

She said Hanson was a frequent customer at the store and had frequently accosted her with lewd comments.

After the incident, the woman took a photo of the man’s license plate, which police used to identify him.

Security camera footage from the store allegedly shows the woman helping a customer bag groceries, when Hanson approaches.

Police say video footage shows him swinging his hand to touch the woman on the backside.

The woman turns to look at Hanson, who doesn’t turn around and walks off.

Hanson was charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony. He posted $10,000 bond from the Northern Regional Jail.

Previous hearings had been continued in October and November, and the most recent one, scheduled for Jan. 6, was also continued. His next hearing date is set for Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m. before magistrate Mark Kerwood.
