Martins Ferry Native Derek Simpson Joins Unified Bank

MARTINS FERRY — Unified Bank announced the addition of Derek Simpson as its newest retail banking executive and area sales manager.

A graduate of Ohio University, Simpson will work from Unified’s St. Clairsville offices, located on Stewart Drive and Plaza West Drive.

Simpson comes to Unified with 14 years of experience in the banking industry. His new position will allow him to facilitate mortgage loans, auto and personal loans, and to help grow Unified’s business portfolio.

A Martins Ferry native, Simpson now lives with his family in Shadyside where he and his children are active in youth sports.

Though his previous banking experience has been primarily in the Wheeling area, Simpson is eager to serve the residents of Eastern Ohio while still maintaining a presence in the Wheeling area.

“Helping people find the best financial solution for their home purchase has always been my passion,” Simpson said. “Joining the Unified team will allow me to continue doing what I love best.”

Unified maintains 19 banking centers in Eastern Ohio and West Virginia.

Unified’s home office has operated continuously out of Martins Ferry since 1902. Unified is a full-service bank providing checking and saving accounts, money markets, consumer, mortgage, and business loans, merchant services, and direct deposit.

“We are extremely pleased to announce that Derek has joined our Unified Bank team,” Unified President, CEO and Chairman Scott Everson said. “At Unified, we have a vision to create better lives and futures for the people and communities that we proudly serve.

“In getting to know Derek, I have found that he truly has a strong desire to uphold this vision by providing financial solutions that best meet the needs of his valued clients and being highly involved within the community that he serves.”
