Wheeling Police are searching for a group of people involved in an armed robbery Wednesday night on River Road.

Around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, several people entered a business on River Road and robbed a woman at gunpoint, city police said.

The victim told police she was struck in the head with a firearm by one of the suspects and that they attempted to steal items, including money from her.

Police believe the suspects and victim know each other; however, no arrests have yet been made as detectives continue their investigation.
