An Interstate 70 overpass in Elm Grove was reported to be damaged Monday afternoon.

Photos showed the outer barrier of I-70 near the Pizza Hut on National Road cracked with pieces missing. The Wheeling Police Department ensured that the area below the overpass was coned off to protect drivers and pedestrians from potential hazards.

The West Virginia Division of Highways has been notified, according to police department spokesman Philip Stahl.
