Win J.D. Power Awards

Straub Automotive recently announced the company’s Straub Hyundai and Straub Nissan dealerships have each been awarded the elite J.D. Power Dealer of Excellence trophy for providing an outstanding customer sales experience.

The two Straub Automotive dealerships were included in less than 2% of all the more than 20,000 franchised dealerships to make the final selection. They were also two of only 400 dealers selected to receive the award in 2025 among all dealerships across all OEMs in the United States and Canada.

“We are extremely proud of our dedicated Hyundai and Nissan employees who are dedicated to excellence and made this prestigious honor possible, along with our loyal customers,” Straub Automotive Manager Brian Fato said.

The Straub Automotive family of dealerships has been serving the automotive needs of the communities in the Ohio Valley for over 75 years. Gas Line Maintenance Planned In Valley Grove

A portion of Ohio County Route 40/4 (Valley Grove Road) between 216 and 344 Valley Grove Road will be restricted to one lane from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning Monday, Aug. 4, through Wednesday, Aug. 6, for gas line maintenance. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays.

Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.

Button Kits Available At Brooke County Library

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Library will provide Design A Button kits for children ages 8 to 18. Pick up a kit and do the project at home. Supplies are limited and registration is required.

Those registering will be called to pick up their kit at the library’s front desk in Wellsburg.

Brooke County Library To Celebrate Dolly Day

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library will celebrate Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Day — Dolly Day — from 11 a.m. to noon Aug. 6 in the Wellsburg Library’s River Room.

The event is part of a read-aloud being done throughout the state, organizers said. Dolly Day events will feature a read-aloud of the book “Corduroy,” at 11 a.m. Following the read-aloud, there will be crafts, games and a snack.

The Imagination Library mails more than 2 million high-quality, age-appropriate books every month to enrolled children ages birth to 5.

Parton envisioned creating a lifelong love of reading for children, inspiring them to “dream more, learn more, care more and be more.”
