New Tenants To Fill Spaces at The Highlands
The former West Liberty University space at The Highlands is getting a tenant.
The Ohio County Development Authority’s executive committee met recently by phone to approve leasing agreements at the development.
One contract passed by the committee places the Northern Panhandle Workforce Development Board in the former West Liberty University space adjacent to The Highlands Event Center, said Ohio County commissioner and OCDA President Randy Wharton.
The workforce development board office is presently located in Warwood. It provides training programs and services at regional centers, which are also located locally in Weirton and Paden City.
OCDA executive committee members then approved a second lease with the Northern Panhandle Workforce Development Board, according to Wharton. The organization will rent space in the former AT&T call center building in Wharton Circle, which it will share with WorkForce West Virginia — also a resource for employment and workforce development.
When contacted, Vickie Mazeska, One Stop operator manager at WorkForce West Virginia, said she had no comment on the future move.
In another move, OCDA executive committee members approved a lease for a new owner to move into the Four Seasons Golf space, and operate a similar business, Wharton said. It will be called the Nail City Club House. The new owners have signed a three-year lease.
