Moundsville City Building Construction Progresses

Work on the city of Moundsville’s new municipal and safety building is still underway with the next planned progress meeting slated for Oct. 14.

Moundsville City Manager Rick Healy said that work on all aspects of the building continues.

“The window frames have all been installed and infilled, while waiting on the glass. The temporary power is being disconnected, and everything has been switched over to permanent power,” he said.

“Lights continue to be hung throughout. The insulation of drain lines and ductwork continues, and the ductwork cleaning has been completed.”

Gas lines for the structure also have been installed and tested and that utility is now on at the building.

“All HVAC units have been activated. Work on the east side grading started last week, and the stormwater lines will be installed this week,” Healy added.

“A representative from the elevator company was on site last week to prepare for that shipment and installation. Also, all data lines and cameras are being installed.”

Construction of the new building is anticipated to be mostly complete by January. It will contain the city offices, fire and police departments.

It will also feature a drive-through for bill paying. The existing city building will be razed to make way for a new parking lot.

Starting at $2.99/week.
