National Weather Service Issues Flood Warning for Our Area Until 6 p.m. Today

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a flood warning forSoutheastern Harrison County in east central Ohio, Southeastern Jefferson County in east central Ohio, Northeastern Belmont County in east central Ohio, Western Washington County in southwestern Pennsylvania, Central Ohio County in northern West Virginia, and Southern Brooke County in northern West Virginia.

At 12:03 p.m., radar indicated heavy rain in the warned area. Big Wheeling Creek is out of its banks. Normal low lying areas and poor drainage areas have taken on water and expect more roads to be impacted this afternoon as rain persists. Flooding is expected, and rainfall should be about 3 inches.

Areas that will experience flooding could include Wheeling, Martins Ferry, Bellaire, Warwood, Wellsburg, Bethlehem, West Liberty, Clearview, Mingo Junction, Tiltonsville, Bridgeport and Benwood.
