Time to Vote for Businesses In Best of the Ohio Valley Readers’ Choice Awards
WHEELING — The nominations are in, and now it’s time for you, Ohio Valley, to select your favorite businesses in the Best of the Ohio Valley Readers’ Choice Awards.
Voting is now live for the Best of the Ohio Valley Readers’ Choice Awards, sponsored by The Intelligencer, Wheeling News-Register and The Times Leader. You can find an entire section inside today’s newspaper with all of the nominees, along with the contest rules and advertisements from local businesses seeking your support. Voting also can be done online at bestofov.com.
All votes must be submitted by Monday, Sept. 23. Votes made by using the printed section in today’s newspaper need to be returned to The Intelligencer, 1500 Main St., Wheeling, WV 26003.
Voting online can only be done once and also ends on Sept. 23.
The contest gives local residents the opportunity to show their commitment to the best local businesses, organizations, people and more through their vote. The voting process comes after local residents in July nominated their favorite businesses in more than 140 categories.
Some of the categories in which businesses were nominated include the region’s best car dealership, the best concrete contractor, best buffet and best veterinarian.
Once all the votes are in and tallied later this month, the top three businesses in each category will be notified that they’ve been selected by readers as a Best of the Ohio Valley Readers’ Choice winner.
The inaugural event will culminate Tuesday, Nov. 19, with the Best of the Ohio Valley Readers’ Choice Awards Gala set for the White Palace at Wheeling Park, where the winner of each of the 140-plus categories will be revealed. A complete list of all the winners will be published in a special section in The Intelligencer, Wheeling News-Register and Times Leader on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
“Our local businesses received such strong support through the Best of the Ohio Valley Readers’ Choice nominating process, and we are excited to get voting underway starting today on the next phase of determining our winners,” said Pam Bennett, advertising director for The Intelligencer, Wheeling News-Register and The Times Leader. “I’m also so thrilled that we will be announcing and honoring the winners at a red carpet gala event this November!
“We expect our Best of the Ohio Valley Readers’ Choice to become a brand of honor for the great businesses in our community. We are proud, with the help of our readers, to be able to honor these businesses in a way that shows them a new level of appreciation.”
