Updated: Flash Flooding Rocks Parts of Ohio County

Heavy rainfall Saturday in two different fronts dropped several inches of rain and led to minor flooding along U.S. 40 through Triadelphia.

Standing water currently has Dallas Pike Road closed, along with several others.

At different points late Saturday Ohio County Sheriff’s deputies and the West Virginia Division of Highways closed portions of U.S. 40 between Triadelphia and Dixon Run Road. Standing water near the former Scott Lumber had that area down to one lane, and mudslides led to power outages for some residents.

Wheeling Creek near Riesbeck’s in Elm Grove was right at the crest point at about 11 p.m. Saturday, running fast. The water was only a few feet under the Schilling Bridge.
