WHEELING — Two people were injured following a shooting late Tuesday in East Wheeling.

Wheeling police said the two men were shot after witnesses heard gunfire on 14th Street about 11:15 p.m.

One victim was taken to Wheeling Hospital for treatment, while the other person “self-reported” to the hospital shortly after, police said. One man was treated and released, while the other is still hospitalized, police said.

Police did not release the men’s names or the severity of their injuries.

Witnesses told investigators that a group of people was walking down 14th Street when multiple gunshots were heard. A dark colored van was then seen leaving the area.
