Gov. Justice calls special legislative session for Monday to commit $150M to road projects in W.Va.

CHARLESTON – West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice has announced a special session of the Legislature for noon Monday to commit $150 million from the budget surplus for road project in all counties.

Justice announced the special session during this morning’s COVID-19 pandemic briefing.

The governor displayed a chart of projects in all counties, representing 402 projects, 742.84 miles of road, 17 slides, 40 bridges and 111 other highway projects.

“This will absolutely help us,” Justice said.

The Legislature will be in Charleston for interim meetings, Justice said.
