Centre Market in Wheeling Welcomes New Boutiques
The newest Centre Market Business District storefront boasts the best of both worlds — from edgy to comfy, but always distinctively trendy — from two different local boutiques.
On Friday, Label 3 and Talan + Lou Boutiques celebrated their grand opening at 2135 Market St., joining other unique local businesses across from historic Centre Market on the same stretch of Market Street as Later Alligator.
Lisa Bronchik, owner of Label 3, and Samantha Holcomb, owner of Talan + Lou Boutique, cut the ribbon outside their cozy and collaborative brick-and-mortar location, welcoming a steady flow of customers in no time.
The two boutiques specialize in women’s clothing and accessories, offering a little something for everyone of any age.
“We call it two vibes in one location — we have totally different tastes, and it all just blends together,” Bronchik said. “We both started at the same time, and we’ve been working together from the very beginning. We had a studio in St. Clairsville, and we did local pop-up boutiques throughout the Valley. We just decided to partner and put our two businesses together.”
The two boutiques not only complement each other in the same space, they both fit perfectly into the Centre Market area, which they said offers great foot traffic. The character of the neighborhood and the store itself also helped the local business women decide to set up shop there.
“With all of the exposed brick and everything, we just fell in love with it,” Holcomb said. “We said we’d never have a storefront unless it was exactly what we wanted — and this is exactly what we wanted.”
The boutiques share space throughout the center display tables in the store, but along the two lengthy walls of the shop, they exclusively showcase their unique selections — with features from Talan + Lou Boutique occupying the north wall and fashions from Label 3 showcased on the south wall. The setup highlights two distinctive looks the boutiques offer, all in one space.
“I try to go a little dressier for women — from work to weekend, I call it,” Bronchik said of the Label 3 selections. “Wear it to work, and then change it up and wear it on the weekend. I also have leather purses and candles from Pittsburgh.”
Holcomb said her boutique caters to the more casual fashions.
“I offer more clothes that are comfortable,” she said of Talan + Lou’s clothing selections. “I like to have a few unique pieces that are very versatile and things that you can just mix and match to make a whole wardrobe.”
Hours for the boutiques will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, with some flexibility beyond those primary time slots. Evening hours may be added on Wednesdays and some Fridays when there are special events taking place in Centre Market.
“We’ll help you feel comfortable here, and we’ll help style you,” Holcomb said.
