WHEELING — A Wheeling man was arraigned on murder charges Saturday following a death discovered in Mozart Friday.

William Ross Carman, 35, appeared before Magistrate Janine Varner. Varner arraigned him for the felony charge of murder, and he will continue to be held without bond at the Northern Regional Jail.

Carman was arrested and charged Friday with one count of murder in the death of 41-year-old Anorah Charlene Schostag of Wheeling, according to the Wheeling Police Department.

Wheeling Police Department spokesman Philip Stahl said officers were called to the Mozart area at about 2 p.m. to investigate suspicious circumstances.

In addition to Wheeling police, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department and West Virginia State Police also responded to the scene.

North Frazier Avenue was blocked from traffic as officers investigated the scene. Police vehicles from the three agencies took up most of the road in front of the house where the homicide occurred.
