The free COVID-19 testing clinic that has been operating for much of the pandemic at the old Ohio Valley Medical Center campus will end June 1, the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department announced Thursday.
The clinic will continue between today and Tuesday, but end Wednesday. The change in testing, the department said, is part of a statewide change in state-supported free testing.
The availability of at-home testing has increased in recent months. No testing will be offered at the county health department.
The department will continue offering COVID-19 vaccinations at its headquarters at 1500 Chapline St. in Wheeling. Vaccinations are offered Monday-Friday from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccines are available. First and second primary vaccinations, first and second boosters and 5-11-year-old vaccinations and boosters are available. Walk-ins are welcomed and no appointments are necessary.
