Police: 22-Year-Old Woman Was Killed in Steubenville Shooting

STEUBENVILLE — A 30-year-old Darlington Road resident is being held in the Jefferson County Jail in connection with Thursday’s shooting death of a woman in a car outside of his residence, Steubenville Police Chief Bill McCafferty said Friday.
The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Carol Barnett, 180 N. Fourth St., Steubenville.
Authorities have charged Joshua Woodland, 419 Darlington Road, with murder with a firearm specification.
McCafferty said the two were in the car along with another female — Woodland’s sister — and a toddler.
The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
McCafferty said police are still investigating into a possible motive for the shooting.
