UPDATE: Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested In Benwood

BENWOOD – Benwood Police arrested two suspects in a Wheeling armed robbery Friday afternoon after they were spotted gambling at a Benwood restaurant.

Chief Frank Longwell said his department got a call at about 1:30 p.m. from a worker at Undo’s Restaurant in Benwood. The employee believed two individuals in the poker room there resembled those they had seen in photos of suspects in the armed robbery that were released by the Wheeling Police Department.

Benwood Police responded to the scene along with McMechen Police and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, and the pair was apprehended, according to Longwell. Wheeling Police were expected to arrive later Friday afternoon to arrest the individuals.

Ryan Earl Knight, 33, has been charged with attempted murder, robbery and conspiracy, while Brandy Anne Cecil, 35, has been charged with robbery and conspiracy.

Around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, police were informed that a woman was robbed at gunpoint at Gumby’s on River Road by several people. The victim told police she was struck in the head with a firearm by one of the suspects and that they attempted to steal items, including money, from her.

Two people have been named as suspects in the armed robbery that took place Wednesday on River Road, the Wheeling Police Department announced Friday.

Ryan Earl Knight has been charged with attempted murder, robbery and conspiracy, while Brandy Anne Cecil has been charged with robbery and conspiracy. Knight, 33, is a white male with brown hair and brown eyes standing 5-foot-6 and weighing 135 pounds. Cecil, 35, is a white female with brown hair and brown eyes standing 5-foot-6 and weighing 130 pounds.
