TRIADELPHIA — A miner at the Tunnel Ridge mine in Ohio County was killed in an accident Wednesday, according to Tunnel Ridge general manager Eric Anderson.
In an emailed statement, Anderson said that at around 10 a.m. Wednesday, an employee was fatally injured in an accident involving two pieces of rail mounted mobile equipment located underground. Co-workers brought the injured miner to the surface, where he was declared dead at approximately 12:07 p.m.
