Six Injured In I-70 Crash
At least six people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a Friday evening crash on Interstate 70 near the West Virginia-Pennsylvania state line.
According to Ohio County Sheriff Nelson Croft, traffic was slowed because of lane reduction due to construction near the Pennsylvania border. The driver of a commercial vehicle was going up a hill and the sun was allegedly in his eyes.
Croft said the driver reached up to pull down his visor and didn’t see the stopped traffic. The commercial vehicle veered back and forth to get control and avoid an accident and ended up hitting five passenger cars. At least six people transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Croft said traffic is flowing again.
Sounds like it’s still a mess and Lou & Croft both don’t know much. But there are four people injured. East bound traffic is slowed but we don’t know yet about closures. Ohio county EMS and the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office were on scene and called on the Valley Grove, Stone Church, Bethlehem and West Alexander fire departments to transport people.
