The Wheeling Police Department this morning noted that due to weather concerns, the Washington Avenue Bridge will now close on Wednesday as opposed to Tuesday. The span will remain closed through late 2026.

The detour route to access the Pleasanton neighborhood is via Interstate 70 to National Road.

The Washington Avenue I-70 Exit 2B on/off ramps and bridge are not impacted and will remain open, police said.
