Carolyn Sue “SueBee” Marsh Cunningham

Carolyn Sue “SueBee” Marsh Cunningham, 80, of Wheeling, WV, passed away, peacefully, Monday, August 12, 2019 at Wheeling Hospital.

She was born September 5, 1938, in Philippi, WV, daughter of the late Wilbert Harvey and Helen Isophene Boyles Marsh. It is there where she married her husband Bill and they moved to Wheeling in 1958.

Sue was a file clerk at Etna Insurance, a teacher’s aide for Ohio County Schools, a consultant for Faye Swafford and worked for Home Interior & Gifts as a saleswoman. She also was a greeter at Peterson and active in the Residents Council there. Her biggest accomplishment was her family. She was most proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Cross Roads Church, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Island Garden Club and a past member of the Woman’s Club of Wheeling, WV.

Sue loved spending time with her family. She loved cooking, canning and baking. She found joy in the simple things in life. She knew no strangers and had a host of good friends throughout her life. Sue was someone who was always available to help others. She had a huge heart and touched the lives of so many people, offering kindness and love. Sue was a joy to be around and the life she led is an inspiration to all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Cunningham, and a brother, Donald Gene Marsh.

She is survived by her son, Todd (Kelly) Cunningham of Hopwood, PA and daughter, Missy (Gary) Glessner of Wheeling, WV; five grandchildren, Kara (James) Ros, Krissy (Toby) Swango and Sydney, Kelsey and Gary Glessner II; great-grandchildren, Zoey and Marley Swango and Parker Ros; two sisters, Mary Kathryn Mosesso and Janet Lou (Jerry) Nixon; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Homes, 900 National Road, Wheeling WV (304-232-2732) with the Rev. Alan Flaitz and the Rev. John Lepp officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Marsh Cemetery, Philippi, WV.
