Margaret Lou Grosscurth Campbell

Margaret Lou Grosscurth Campbell, 88, of Wheeling, passed away Sunday August 11, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family, after a five-year battle with dementia and Parkinson’s disease.

She was born September 11, 1930, in Wheeling, WV, the second daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Grosscurth.

She was a retired nurse’s aide for Peterson Rehabilitation and Geriatric Center and a longtime member of the Greggsville Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Wheeling High School, class of 1948, and took secretarial classes at West Virginia Northern Community College throughout the 1970s. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and a loving friend who opened her heart and home to everyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William F. Campbell III; two sisters, Mary Virginia Goldbaugh and Katherine Schenerlein; a granddaughter, Jennifer Bennett, and a son-in-law, Frankie L. Hager.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon (Glenn) Johnson, Helen (James) Bradley and Margaret (Jerry) Hindman; a son, Harry Campbell; a brother, Robert Grosscurth; a daughter-in-law, Mary Campbell; her grandchildren, Larissa, Damante, Autumn, Aubria, Shey, Jeremy, Amy, Cassie, Nicholes, Ryan, Jessica and Alicia; her nieces and nephews, Karen, David, Mike, Gene, Chris and Randy; her 17 great-grandchildren, and her special extended family, Christine, Reyna, Angie and family.

The family sends a special thanks to Valley Hospice for their love and care during Margaret’s trying time, and to Family Services, especially Peanut, her special caregiver.

Friends will be received on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Homes, 900 National Road, Wheeling (304-232-2732) where services will be held Friday, August 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Margaret Carr officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
