Ronald R. “Ron” Louden, 81, of Moundsville, WV, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital. He was born January 29, 1938 in Glen Dale, a son of the late Ray and Geneva Gemensky Louden.
Ron was the oldest of three children with two younger brothers. He was a graduate of Moundsville High School and an employee of the A & P Corporation for several years and the Bayer Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 1999, and was a U.S. Army veteran. Ron loved being retired and going to car shows with his many friends and showing his 1953 Chevy truck.
He loved NASCAR (his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt) and watching his son racing in Motocross. He also liked all WVU ball sports and the Steelers and Pirates, but most of all Ron loved playing with his little Sheltie, Brandi.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Louden, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donald and Letha Blake Harris, two sisters in law, Maxine Crow and Imogene Garrison, and three brothers-in law, Brooks Harris, Carlton Garrison and Morris Kestner.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Mary O’dessa Dessie Harris Louden, his son, Brad Louden of Moundsville, his brother, Daniel Louden of Moundsville three sisters-in-law, Betty (Elwood) Cecil of Moundsville, Dorothy (Bob) Blake of Buckhannon, WV, Velma Ruth Harris of Glen Easton, WV and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes and Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, WV where services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Rodney Hubbs officiating.
Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery with full military honors with the Moundsville Honor Guard.
