Shirley Meintel, of Bellaire, went to be with the Lord Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, in Forest Hills Continuing Healthcare.
She was born in Shadyside, the daughter of the late Charles Chimley and Anna Kochran Wisvari.
Shirley retired from Wheeling Hospital with 25 years of service as an EKG technician.
She was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio and spent the rest of her time caring for and aiding those around her. Her loving smile will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege to know her!
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Louis Walter Meintel, on March 11, 1976.
She was a young single mother at 35 years old who raised three children; Louis “Mike” (Janie) Meintel, Lou Ann Meintel Kinder and Patrick (Kristie) Meintel.
In addition to her children, survivors include three brothers, Henry “Sonny” (Patti) Wisvari, Mike (Linda) Wisvari, and Ronald Wisvari; her grandchildren, Britanie (Sean) Porter, Michael (Marci) Meintel, Brooke (Tanner Hull) Meintel, Madison (Cody Anderson) Kinder, Marissa Meintel, Kelsie Meintel, and Dillon Meintel; great- grandchildren, Rylie Porter and Louis Maximus Meintel; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Rd., Bethlehem/ Wheeling.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, 415 37th St., Bellaire, with Fr. Daniel Heusel as celebrant.
Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire.
