Albert M. Gardner, of Wheeling, died Sept. 16, 2019 in Mound View Nursing Home.
He was born in Wheeling on March 20, 1940, a son of the late Kathryn and Harry Gardner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brett Albert, and brother, Harry Gardner Jr.
Surviving are his wife, Julia; daughter, Kathryn Ann; two step sons, Eric Matthews and Shawn Matthews; and several grandchildren.
Albert was a graduate of the former Triadelphia High School in 1958 and Bethany College in 1972. He was a comptroller for several companies and a member of the Elm Grove United Methodist Church.
There will be no visitation. It was Albert’s wishes that his body be donated to the Human Gift Registry for Science at West Virginia University in Morgantown.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 14, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Elm Grove United Methodist Church.
