VELMA J. ROBSON

Velma Jean “Vel” Robson 81, of Shadyside, Ohio passed away Monday, December 9, 2019, at Wheeling Hospital.

She was born July 18, 1938, in Erie, PA, a daughter of the late Leon Alfred and Edith Mae Ditcher Knapp.

She was a retired buyer for the former Stone and Thomas Company Wheeling, WV, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 52 Bellaire, OH and a Protestant by faith.

Vel was a charter member of the Howard Long Wellness Center where she had many friends.

Preceding her in death were a brother, Leon Duane Knapp; and a brother-in-law, Harvey M. Yoder.

She was a devoted wife to Don for 33 years, who survives her. Also surviving are her step-children, Dana (Curtis) Robson-Workman of Dobson, NC, and Mark Robson of Houston, TX; three sisters, Patty (Dave) Bauschard of Charlotte, NC, Nancy Yoder of McDonough, GA, and Barbara (Bob) Fellows of Lilburn, GA; a brother, Dana (Linda) Knapp of Ocala, FL; two grandchildren, Matt Workman of Clover, SC, and Bethany Wilkinson of Hilton Head, SC; four great-grandchildren, Collin Workman, John Workman, Tate Wilkinson, and Hayes Wilkinson; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 2 -4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3900 Central Ave., Shadyside, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday with Reverend Seth Filburn officiating.

Interment follows at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, Ohio
