Matthew A. Barbour, age 50 of Bethlehem, WV passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
He was born May 12, 1970 in Glen Dale, WV the son of the late Betty Ann Knight Cook and the late David Barbour.
Matthew was a Pharmaceutical Representative at Syneos Health; a US Army Veteran; a member of the First Christian Church, Wheeling; coached Bethlehem baseball and basketball; Wheeling Soccer; and was a dance dad. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was a dedicated husband, father and brother.
Survivors include his wife of twenty one years, Holly (Wade) Barbour; three children, Adeline Barbour, Hayden Barbour, and Wade Barbour at home; two brothers, Chris (Dee Dee) Barbour of Glen Dale, WV and Kirby (Missy) Barbour of Cary, NC; nephews, Chase Wade, Carson Barbour, Jack and Luke Barbour; stepdad, Jerry Cook of Lewisburg, TN; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Nancy Wade of Glen Dale; sister-in-law Anna (Dennis) Bodkin of Glen Dale, WV; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Allicia) Wade of Glen Dale and Marc (Jayne) Wade of Wheeling, WV and several aunts, uncles, cousins, step-siblings and step-nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Road, Bethlehem/Wheeling where funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth Hardway officiating.
The family has requested that social distancing be practiced and masks be worn.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
