George Alan Weisner, 92, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born January 17, 1928, a son to the late Albert and Anita (Bishop) Weisner. George was a member of Centre Wheeling Fellowship, formerly St. John’s Evangelical Church and a US Army Korean War Veteran. He was a 1945 graduate of Wheeling High School, a dedicated member and former captain of the Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department for 78 years and a retired postal clerk from the US Post Office with 42 years of service.

George, a faithful and devoted husband and father, is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, M. Jean (Joseph) Weisner; eight children, David A. Weisner of Milltown, NJ, Georgene (Michael) Manning of Columbus, OH, Ronald J. Weisner of Murrysville, PA, Randy P. Weisner of Wheeling, Ann Marie (Richard) Serafin of Richmond, VA, Gary A. Weisner of Wheeling, Mary Beth Weisner of Columbus and John (Lisa) Weisner of Columbus; one brother, Robert Weisner Sr. of Wheeling, and his children, Robert Weisner Jr. and Rebecca Walters; eight grandchildren, Andrew (Sarah) Serafin, Michael Serafin, Julie Serafin, Daniel Serafin, David Manning, Patrick Manning, Joseph Manning and Thomas Manning and one great- granddaughter, Claire Serafin.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Homes.
