Dennis Michael “Hobe” Horbatak, 54, of Wheeling passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020.

He was born in Wheeling on August 26, 1966 son of the late Charles A. Horbatak and Lois (Teachout) Horbatak.

Hobe was a graduate of WPHS, and Marshall University. He played baseball in High School and also for the Wheeling Post 1 American Legion. He was the “first” Legion Player in the United States to play on 4 consecutive State Championship teams. He was also the recipient of the Clark Porter Award. He worked for the City of Wheeling, both in the recreation department and was later an emergency 911 dispatcher for over 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the P.A.P. Club.

In addition to his mother Lois and her companion Joseph Bland, he is survived by his siblings, Carla (Chuck) Roberts, Dan (Stacey) Horbatak, Amber Loughery all of Wheeling, Holly (Dave) Adams of Cape Charles, VA; 6 nieces and nephews, 3 great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

There will be no visitation and a graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 10:30 am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Wheeling.
