On Monday, October 12, 2020, Aletha Floretta DiRemigio passed away peacefully at the age of 79. She is now at rest with her Lord and Savior.

Aletha was born on May 28, 1941 in Wileyville, Wetzel County, West Virginia to Clarice and William Morris. She graduated from Hundred High School in 1959. Aletha met the love of her life, Ralph DiRemigio while both working for PPG in New Martinsville, WV. They married in July 1961 and had two children together, Tionna DiRemigio Baker and Joseph DiRemigio.

Aletha, was known as Grandma Jo to her grandchildren Aubrey and Kelsey Baker. She loved cooking, crafts, scrapbooking and decorating for the Christmas holiday. She enjoyed many traditions with her family and hosted many gatherings over the years. Aletha traveled to visit her family whenever she could. She loved her visits to Scotland and walks along the River Dee with her grandchildren.

Aletha was the Chief Tax Deputy for Marshal County where she was proud to serve for over 30 years. She was patient and kind with all her customers. Everyone who knew her, even her caregivers near the end of her life, described her as the kindest lady that they had ever met.

Aletha assisted her husband Ralph with his political campaigns and business ventures. Together they built a loving home for their children, grandchildren, and pampered pets. Aletha is survived by her two children and her two grandchildren. Her husband Ralph passed away in 2008, and her daughter-in-law, Kelly DiRemigio in 2016.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00-12:00 Saturday October 17, 2020 at Altmeyer Funeral home at 118 Grant Ave. Moundsville, WV 26041. Internment and service will follow at Riverview Cemetery with immediate family in attendance. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at a later date.
