Doris Elaine Kenny Tolbert, 94, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020.

Doris was born August 31, 1926, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Norman and Adelaide Kenny.

She was a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy. Before starting her family, she worked for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church, Elm Grove Eagles, Rose Bowl bowling team and had volunteered at Wheeling Hospital. She loved to dance to the Big Band music, was a big fan of Willie Nelson and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ralph; sister, Patricia Huff; and her brother, Ralph Kenny.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Brendan) Smith of Louisville, KY; and her son, Randy Tolbert of Wheeling, WV; eight grandchildren, Erin (Travis) Boone of Brentwood, TN, Ryan (Crystal) Smith of Louisville, KY, Sean (Kristin) Smith of Nolinsville, TN; Sarah, Michelle and Luke Tolbert (Wheeling); Jenna (Mike) Hrubes (Wheeling) and Laura (Jessie) Tolbert of Midway, GA; great-grandchildren, Adeline and Max Smith, Charlie and Lilly Boone, Dylan and Declan Hrubes, Joseph, Matthew and Mollie Elaine Young; several nieces and nephews; and special cousins, Ron and Mary Alice Remp.

Doris was known for her unconditional love for her daughter and sons and her time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all of us that knew and loved her. Heaven has gained an Angel.

The family would like to extend the utmost gratitude and appreciation to the Staff of Good Shepherd Nursing Home for their kindness and care they provided.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, National Road, Wheeling, WV, with Rev. Joseph Wiley as celebrant.

Interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
