Phyllis Hendershot Costine, 92, of St. Clairsville, OH died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at her home. She was born January 27, 1928 in Barnesville, OH., a daughter of the late Theodore Clifford and Lillie Yockey Hendershot.
Phyllis was a teacher and homemaker. She lived a long, full and active life dedicated to family, church and music, Those who knew her will remember her warm, elegant and gen- uine style. She was a graduate of Beallsville High School in 1945 and graduated from West Liberty University in 1949. She was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church for many years serving in the Choir, she loved to sing. She was very active in many organizations; the Tuesday Night Club for 50 years, Thoburn Choir for 50 years, a Sunday School Teacher, Girl Scout Leader and a proud St. Clairsville High School Band parent.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hannah Costine.
Surviving are her husband of 69 years, John O. Costine of St. Clairsville; her children, Ret. Judge J. Mark (Brenda) Costine of St. Clairsville, Melanie (Craig) Moon of Middletown, OH., Judge Eric (Denise) Costine of St. Clairsville; a brother, John (Mabel) Hendershot of Frostproof, FL; a sister, Judy Norris of Franklin, TN; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Her greatest achievement was her close and inseparable marriage with her husband. All who know them admired this relationship.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Thoburn United Methodist Church with funeral services on Thursday at 1 pm with Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Burial in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
