Lucille Murphy Hartley, 92, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021, at Liza’s Place.
She was born on September 6, 1928, daughter of the late Charles E. and Auta Murphy.
Lucille played piano throughout the Ohio Valley entertaining at nursing homes, square dances, clubs and community events. She enjoyed playing for churches and holiday services. She traveled throughout West Virginia as the Grand Organist for the State Chapter of The Order of Eastern Star.
She worked at Cameron Hardware for 32 years. She was a 4-H leader, a member of The Homemakers Association and the PTA. She was on the Democratic Committee in Marshall County for many years. She loved living and working on the farm and loved working in her garden. She especially loved spending time with her family at reunions, picnics and holiday gatherings.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Westley A. Hartley; two brothers, Donald and William Murphy; three sisters, Georgia Walters, Violette Mancini and Lonzalie Drewett; and nephew, Donald Eugene Murphy.
Surviving are her three sons, Bradford “Brad” (Nannetta) Hartley, Charles “Chuck” (Vicki) Hartley, and Matthew “Matt” (Kim) Hartley; six grandchildren, Ulayna Hartley, Ethan Hartley, Jenna Lu (Nick) Dompa, Cody (Mary) Hartley, Justin Hartley, Jacob Hartley; three great grandchildren, Nico Dompa, Nellie Jean Dompa, Lily Hartley; several nieces, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

Friends will be received at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV 26003, Sunday, June 13, 2021, from 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm, and again Monday, June 14, 2021, from 11 am until time of service at noon with Rev. Mike Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Dallas, WV.
