Earl Junior Fletcher entered his heavenly home in the arms of his Father on August 12, 2022. Born to the family of Delbert and Mattie Fletcher in Tyler County on October 21, 1930, Junior was a proud West Virginian.
He married his sweetheart, Barbara Ann Moore Fletcher on April 10, 1950. They had 71 years of love, laughter, and tears. That legacy was built on a farm in Alma, WV. He will be laid to rest under a tree on that farm beside his sweetheart, Barbara Ann.
Earl’s unfailing love and faith in his heavenly Father, is the foundation on which he lived his life. On January 15, 1955, he gave his life to Christ and his name is now written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann; his parents, Delbert and Mattie Thompson Fletcher; as well as 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Junior is survived by his four sons, Larry (Betty) Fletcher, Alma, WV; Terry (Cathy) Fletcher, Alma, WV; Garry (Sue) Fletcher, Belpre, OH; Barry (Andrea) Fletcher, Buckhannon, WV; and grandchildren, Angie Yeater, Teresa Fletcher, Tracy Smith, Melinda Walton, Brooke Albright, Jay Fletcher, Amy Postlethwait, Austin Fletcher, Levi Fletcher & Seth Fletcher as well as 19 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
He was a very kind and caring man. He worked hard to support his family and be available to others in need. He preached the gospel for 67 years and was never ashamed to testify about his love for the Lord! Refusing to speak a bad word about anyone, that testimony speaks of the way he lived.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 17th from 5:00-8:00pm at Furbee’s Funeral Home in Middlebourne, WV. A committal service for both Barbara Ann and Junior will be held at the family farm on Pitts Run Road in Alma, WV on September 24th at noon.
