IRENE OKEL

She was born May 25, 1933 in Shadyside, OH daughter of the late Delmas and Irene Heyda Finnicum.

Irene was a retired LPN from Bell Nursing Home, Belmont, OH and a longtime member and a devoted member of the choir at St. John’s Catholic Church, Benwood. She was a former 4-H leader and All-Star and a member of the Marshall County P.T.A.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas Okel; twin sister: Mary Rosman and two brothers: Sonny & Gary Finnicum.

Survivors include three daughters: Linda (Todd) Carnell of Keyser, WV, Ladean (Michael) Rodak of Benwood and Leslie (Patrick) Rodak of Valley Grove; six grandchildren: Zachary (Chelsea) Rodak, Samantha (Jordan Fuqua) Rodak, Michele Rodak, Jonah (Claudia Romano) Rodak, Daniel (Marina Rohbeck) Rodak and Clarissa (Tristan) Kimble; five great-grandchildren: Riley, Dane and Declan Rodak, Kyden Rainey and Eloise Kimble; three sisters: Delma (Richard) Garrett of Cleveland, OH, Shirley Clouse of Barnsville, OH and Carolee Miller of Beallsville, OH and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 2:00-6:00pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Road, Bethlehem/Wheeling. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 11:00am at St. John’s Catholic Church, 622 Main Street, Benwood, WV with Fr. Doney as celebrant.

Entombment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Sherrard.
