NORMA JEAN BERISFORD
Norma Jean Berisford, a cherished member of her Glen Dale, WV community and family, passed away with her devoted son by her side on February 7, 2025, at Peterson Healthcare in Wheeling, West Virginia. Born on August 1, 1937, in Glen Dale, West Virginia, Norma lived a life filled with love, dedication, and joy, reaching the age of 87.
Norma dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming environment for those she held dear. Her passions included celebrating holidays and unforgettable holiday parties, swimming, indulging in music, and embracing the joy of dancing. She was also a former Meals-on-Wheels volunteer, demonstrating her commitment to serving others in her community.
Norma was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eugene and Helen (Bober) McDonald, her devoted husband, Stanley Berisford, and her dear daughter, Vickie Berisford. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her surviving family and friends, including her devoted son, Frederick J. Berisford of Glen Dale; her brother, William McDonald, and his wife Shirley of Moundsville; and her sisters, Shery Brady of Moundsville and Terry Childres of South Point, Ohio. She is also fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and again on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel in Moundsville. Interment will be private.
