Keeping Your Voter Registration Active
About one in 12 people registered to vote in Ohio County have not done so within the past four years. If you are among the 2,460 people in that category, you may want to pay attention to the mail during the next few weeks.
Ohio County commissioners were told this week that postcards are being sent to people in that category, asking if they desire to remain registered to vote. If so, they must notify county officials, or their names will be removed from registration lists.
The mailing is part of a statewide initiative to clean up registration rolls.
Some of those involved have moved away. Some have died. Others have no interest in voting.
But many do, we suspect. If you are among them, look for the postcard — and take the required action to remain registered to vote.
