There Are Really Good People, Too

Every child ought to have a warm, comfortable bed in which to sleep. Some don’t, Jefferson County Juvenile Judge Joseph Corabi has been told by probation officers.

Corabi, Chief Probation Officer Fred Abdalla Jr., Court Administrator Joseph Colabella, Magistrate Frank Noble Jr. and Probation Officer Sean Tucker did something about that.

Tucker worked with summer youth program teenagers to construct beds, using wood from DeNoon Lumber. Ferguson’s House of Furniture donated mattresses and bedding. Paula and Martin Phillips of Wintersville donated $500 for pillows and comforters.

Now eight children who otherwise might have been sleeping on the floor or on couches have nice beds.

We in the news business don’t enjoy reporting about bad characters anymore than you like reading about them. Thank heaven there are a lot more really good people in our area.
