Target Reckless Drivers in Weirton
Members of the Weirton Traffic Commission recently discussed what, if anything, can be done about motorists who drive at reckless speeds. That is a particular problem on Marland Heights Road.
Commission member Douglas Branham confirmed that. “When I was investigating, I almost got rear-ended for going too slow,” he explained.
“I’m not sure what we can do,” commented commission Chair Romie Castelli.
Here’s an idea: Have city police target problem areas, hand out lots of speeding tickets, and fine offenders heavily. We’ll bet that helps.
