MARYLEE BOYD

Marylee Boyd, 91, of Wheeling, passed away on January 20, 2025, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
She was born in East Palestine, OH, on January 15, 1934, to the late William Alfred and Marjorie Jean Simms Aldrich.
Marylee earned her bachelor’s degree from Bethany College and worked as the Director of Volunteers for OVMC, Valley Hospice, and Reynolds Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Wheeling, past president of Junior League of Wheeling, member of The Kings Daughters, Ohio County Master Gardener, and original member of The Purple Monsters.
She loved sweets and flowers, gardening, being with friends and family, and playing bridge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Howard Benton Boyd; brother, William Albright Aldrich; Special Friend, John R. Conley; son-in-law, Mark Nardone; and her cat, Katarina.
Marylee is survived by two sons, Stephen (Rebecca) Boyd, Andrew T. (Debra) Boyd; a daughter, Susan “Sudie” Nardone; seven grandchildren, Chelsea (Jim) Bauckman, Andrew S. (Colleen) Boyd, Allison and Connor Boyd, Eleni (Donovan) Walter, Nicholas Nardone, and Tino Nardone; great-grand daughter, Liberty Gray Bauckman; great-grandson, Whitton Marcus Walter; several nieces and nephews; and many friends including her devoted friend, Barbara Colton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mark Nardone Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Ohio County Schools Foundation, 2203 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003.
A celebration of Marylee’s life will be held at a later date.
