Barton VFD Grateful

Editor, News-Register:

The Barton Volunteer Fire Department is pleased to announce another successful Polkafest held on July 14. The proceeds from this recent fundraiser will be used toward our goal of building a new fire station.

We have many people to thank for our success. We wish to acknowledge our loyal supporters who come from near and far for a great day of polka music and good food. Your support — year after year –is appreciated.

The Barton VFD is also grateful to our local media for excellent coverage of our fundraising events. Informing the residents of surrounding areas of this fundraiser surely contributed to our increased attendance. We are estimating that 1,500 people came to enjoy the day with us.

Annually, we depend on our faithful volunteers to help with this event. Kudos to our loyal membership, our cadet corps and local community members who provided money, goods and services. You helped to make this festival a success. Your continuing support of our volunteer fire department is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again to all who support our efforts. That support helps us inch out way closer to our ultimate goal — a new station to serve our fire district and provide mutual aid to surrounding communities.
